Uncle Neil

You died Wednesday night, November 4th. Just as the Yankees won the world series, your heart went into shock and no one could revive you. Yes, the dialysis and other machines that kept your blood moving and lungs fluttering were working fine, but you had died. You were gray and motionless. No sound came from you. But you were in the room. You left your oldest daughter with a small child that won't remember you. You also left her with another grandchild in the womb. You left your other daughter whom is trying for a baby. You left a son, who will forever look up from the football field to your empty front bench seat. You left your youngest daughter before you got to dance with her at her first prom or wedding. Who is to give her away at marrige? But when you left them, you knew they'd be alright. They'll be taken care of. They will not stray down the wrong path because they grew up without a father. What you did for them was great. You taught them what they needed to know to grow into a person much like you. Happy, dependable, loving, straight shooting and generous. And I also thank you for the memories that we've shared. I'll miss your moustache and your jokes that scared me half to death.

I love you Uncle Neil, I'll miss you and I'll never forget you.
